Madeira Island is situated in the Atlantic Ocean 560 km from the African coast. It is known for its mild climate throughout the year, with average temperatures ranging between 17ºC in Winter and 25º in Summer, and for its fantastic mountain scenery, enriched by a flora and fauna that will not leave you indifferent. The beaches of Madeira are known for its temperate waters, due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. In summer the water average temperature it’s around 22ºC and 18ºC in the Winter.


The Laurel forest, declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, is one of the biggest Madeira wealth. The Laurel forest occupies an area of ​​15,000 hectares ( that represents 20% of the Island itself), in the slopes on the north side, coated by steep green slopes and deep valleys. It is the most extensive and best preserved Laurel Forest of the Atlantic Islands.
